DayByDay

Day By Day Pet Caregiver Support, a 501 c (3) organization, is dedicated to providing compassionate and educational support for pet caregivers through the stressful and difficult task of caregiving for an aging, chronic or terminally ill pet and transitioning them into pet loss and grief.

A first-of-its-kind organization, Day By Day is focused on providing a safe non-judgmental environment for emotional support as well as educational tools to help pet parents become more informed caregivers. As such, the organization aims to help pet caregivers in handling pet caregiving challenges and when making future health or end-of-life decisions for their pets.

By providing an atmosphere of empathy, pet caregivers will find understanding through Day By Day’s resources and services. Day By Day’s educational tools assist pet caregivers in communicating more effectively with their veterinary team which will lead to a better understanding of treatment options and the ability to make educated decisions about their pet’s future care.

Veterinarians are there to stabilize, diagnose, and treat a pet, but they are not trained to provide the kind of emotional support pet caregivers need. Day By Day is here to function as a compassionate extension of the veterinary experience so pet caregivers know they are not alone.

Services provided at no cost through Day By Day include professional licensed counseling, monthly support groups, a telephone hotline, an internet Yahoo Group and a comprehensive website offering a listing of local pet caregiving services and resources.
